Comparison of the Strain Rate Sensitivity in AZ31 and WE43 Magnesium Alloys under Different Loading Conditions

The initial texture effect of strain rate sensitivity response in magnesium alloys was studied using the quasi situ electron backscatter diffraction technique. accumulations, under uniaxial loading both tensile and compression along rolling direction, showed dependency. For AZ31 sheets with strong basal (max intensity to 11.2), twinning first occurs at onset plastic deformation, resulting macroscopic insensitivity. With further loading, significantly increases (with coefficient m increased from 0.0025 0.012), arising initiation slip. WE43 alloy weak 2.6), overall deformation is sensitive compression. growth twinned volume fraction have been used identify whether process twin-dominated or slip-dominated during a alloy.
